On-the-Bit Warm-Up — Finger “Lemon-Squeeze” Exercise

In this short training demo, Alexandra Doan of Dressage Clicks works with her Lusitano gelding Vaquero at Moose Ridge Farm in Lincolnville, Maine.
She shows riders how to use the “lemon-squeeze” pinky-finger technique on the reins to invite a soft, elastic connection and encourage the horse to come on the bit—developing topline strength, suppleness, and better self-carriage.
Perfect for dressage riders looking for easy, mindful warm-up tactics before or after mounting.
